The corona rules of popular flight destinations in Europe
Many people across Europe have left their home to celebrate their holiday this summer. The corona measures are dealt differently per moment and country. This article shows an updated overview of the corona rules in popular holiday countries in Europe.
Germany during corona
People can enter Germany freely again, but upon arrival people can be checked for corona symptoms. Tourists and residents need to keep a distance of at least 1.5 meter. Face masks are mandatory in areas where the 1.5 meter rule cannot be respected. This includes for example: public transport, restaurants and shops. The number of visitors per location can also be limited. Face masks can temporarily be removed while consuming food and drinks in restaurants. Children under the age of 8 do not have to wear a mask. Beaches are only accessible to people living in the state. Visitors from outside the state are therefore not welcome. Hotels have permission to be open again, as have their hotel facilities like: wellness centers and indoor swimming pools.
Flight destinations France
Unlike other countries the 1.5 meter rule does not apply in France. Residents and tourists only have to keep a distance of 1 meter. In the car people have to respect the 1 meter rule. Therefore the seat next to the driver remains free. This limitation does not apply for people of the same household. Face masks are mandatory in areas where the 1 meter rule cannot be respected. This includes for example: government buildings, hospitals, public transport and shops.
The corona rules in Italy
In Italy residents and tourists must keep a distance of 1 meter. Unlike other countries, a minimum of 2 meter distance applies during exercise. Face masks are required in areas where the 1 meter rule cannot be respected. In cars the seat next to the driver has to remain empty and face masks have to be wearen at all times. Not more than one person is allowed on a motor vehicle, because distance cannot be guaranteed. Car and motor vehicle rules do not apply for people of the same household.
Spain during COVID-19
In Spain there are a number of regions where only necessary trips are advised. This concerns, for example: Catalonia and Aragon. Travelling to these parts is at your own risk. On return of your travel your government can advise or oblige you to go in quarantine for two
weeks. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs changed the travel advice for Barcelona to orange last week. Therefore also only necessary trips are advised. In Spain tourists and residents need to keep a distance of at least 2 meters. Due to a rise in infections stricter rules may apply per region. In some regions face masks have to be wearen at all times, even outdoors and places where the 2 meter distance rule is respected.Hotels, campsites and beaches are open for everybody, however tourists must be well informed. Per region there are special rules to keep a distance of 2 meters.

The corona measures differ per country and region. The safety is expressed by dividing countries and regions in colors. Furthermore it is advised to always consult your Ministry of Foreign Affairs before travelling.
